Folkdance workshop by Željko Jergan
World-renowned Croatian folkdance instructor and choreographer Željko Jergan will give a FREE lesson Saturday prior to the evening dance party in the Seattle Center House. A native of Varaždin, Croatia, Željko was a performer with the Croatian National Folk Ensemble LADO for twelve years. He also performed with the Zagreb National Ballet and Modern Dance companies for several years. He is a graduate of the Varazdin School of Music. Since moving to the United States in 1986, Željko has created over 350 choreographies for over 70 various professional, semi-professional and amateur ensembles across the world. www.tamburaland.com/bands/zjergan/zjergan.html .

Vocal Workshop with Kit Adams
Kit Adams, from Seattle, will give instruction on the traditional vocal style of Dalmatia, known as klapa. This vocal style, some compare to barbershop, has been a tradition of men's vocal groups. It has grown in popularity across Croatia and now mixed voices and women's ensembles also sing the klapa style.

Croatian Language Lesson
Do you want to learn the language of your forefathers? Are you planning a trip to Croatia? Come to the beginner Croatian language lesson and learn the basics and necessary phrases for your travels. Nick Petrish, just back from Dubrovnik where he lives half the year, will host an hour-long session where you are promised to walk away with several good phrases and a smile on your face.
